Materials and Their Compositions

Material Composition and Properties
Stainless Steel Iron (Fe): Base metal, provides strength and formability.

Chromium (Cr): 10.5%-30%, enhances corrosion resistance and hardness.

Nickel (Ni): 8%-20%, improves toughness, ductility, and corrosion resistance.

Molybdenum (Mo): Present in grades like 316, increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

Carbon (C): 0.08%-1.2%, increases hardness and tensile strength.

Manganese (Mn): Adds strength and aids hardening.

Silicon (Si): Enhances strength and corrosion resistance.

Other Elements: Small amounts of nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus refine properties.

Stainless Steel Pipes 304 Stainless Steel Pipes: 18% chromium, 8% nickel. Offers excellent corrosion resistance; used across industries.

316 Stainless Steel Pipes: 16% chromium, 10% nickel, 2% molybdenum. Superior corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides.

321 Stainless Steel Pipes: 17% chromium, 9% nickel, 1% titanium. Stable against carbide precipitation; ideal for high-temperature applications.
